My Pledge to the 4th District
I, Jim Anderson make this solemn pledge to the people of the 4th district:
* I pledge to honor my conservative principles, my allegiance to my constituents, my country and the Constitution. I will not compromise my values and vote down party lines in favor of bi-partisanship and will not accept campaign contributions from anyone who asks me to abandon my duty and obligation to these principles and values.
* I will fight tirelessly to restore our government back to its Constitutional intent and structure, including unwavering support for the 2nd and 10th amendments and abolishment of the 16th amendment.
* I will fight tirelessly to secure and expand liberty and freedom for individuals, and businesses
* I will fight to Refound America, including a Home Rule, which would bring the elected officials from Washington back to their districts, where they would vote on legislation in clear view of their constituents
* I pledge not to introduce or request any earmarks, and fight to eliminate them entirely
* I will fight tirelessly for the enactment of H.R. 25, the Fair Tax Act, which will be the greatest transfer of wealth and power back to the American people since the country was founded
* I pledge to support and co-sponsor H.R. 1207, The Federal Reserve Transparency Act, and S.604, The Federal Reserve Sunshine Act which will audit the inner-workings of our powerful and private, central bank, and work towards strengthening the value of our currency and thus value of our wealth
* I pledge to fight to end the institution of career politicians by sponsoring or co-sponsoring legislation to implement term limits, while amending the Constitution to eliminate the 17th amendment, unconstitutional McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform and the ability of legislators to vote themselves pay raises at will
* I pledge to fight to make policy makers in Washington have to live under the laws that they create, including health care
* I pledge to spend my time conducting town halls across the district, rather than spending two years campaigning
I ask the people of the 4th district to stay involved, hold me accountable to these pledges and should I fail on any of these promises, it will be your duty and obligation to send me home after my term is finished.
I am committed to not only earn your trust, but to keep it.
